ศัลยแพทย์และทันตแพทย์จัดฟันจากกัมพูชาและลาว เข้าศึกษาดูงานการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ที่ศูนย์ตะวันฉาย มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น
เมื่อวันที่ 25-27 มิถุนายน 2568 ที่ผ่านมา ทีมศัลยแพทย์และทันตแพทย์จัดฟันจากประเทศกัมพูชาและลาว ได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก Smile Train เดินทางมาเข้าศึกษาดูงานและแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้เกี่ยวกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ที่ ศูนย์ตะวันฉาย คณะแพทยศาสตร์ และคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น โดยการต้อนรับจาก ศ.นพ.บวรศิลป์ เชาวน์ชื่น ประธานกรรมการมูลนิธิตะวันฉายฯ และ รศ.พญ.กมลวรรณ เจนวิถีสุข ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ตะวันฉาย ที่ได้กล่าวต้อนรับและนำเสนอการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่โดยทีมสหสาขา
ในวันแรกของการศึกษาดูงาน ทีมงานได้รับฟังบรรยายจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านต่างๆ ได้แก่
- ผศ.ทพ.เอกสิทธิ์ มโนสุดประสิทธิ์ หัวหน้าแขนงวิชาทันตกรรมจัดฟัน, ได้บรรยายเรื่องการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ทางด้านทันตกรรมจัดฟัน
- ผศ.ทพ.ศิริพงศ์ สิทธิสมวงศ์ ศัลยแพทย์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล บรรยายเรื่องการผ่าตัด ABG และ Orthognathic Surgery
- พว.ยุพิน ปักกะสังข์ พยาบาลชำนาญการผู้ประสานงาน บรรยายเรื่องการพยาบาลก่อนและหลังผ่าตัด ABG และ Orthognathic Surgery
- พว. นภาพร บุญศรี และ พว.พรพรรณ รูปเหมาะ พยาบาลหอผู้ป่วยหลังคลอด 2ข บรรยายเรื่องการเลี้ยงทารกปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ด้วยนมแม่
- พว.สุธีรา ประดับวงษ์ พยาบาลเชี่ยวชาญ บรรยายเรื่องการบริหารจัดศูนย์ตะวันฉายเพื่อการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่และครอบครัว
- นางสาวทวิตรี ภูมินำ นักแก้ไขการพูดและสื่อภาษา บรรยายเรื่องการดูแลด้านการฝึกพูด
วันที่สองทีมศึกษาดูงานได้เยี่ยมชมสถานที่ต่างๆ:
- ศูนย์ตะวันฉาย
- คลินิกทันกรรมจัดฟัน
- คลินิกฝึกพูดและตรวจการได้ยิน
- ห้องตรวจศัลยกรรมตกแต่ง
- คลินิกศัลยศาสตร์ช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล
- ห้องผ่าตัด
- หอผู้ป่วย 3ค
- หอผู้ป่วยหลังคลอด 2ข
จากนั้นยังได้มีการนำเสนอการผ่าตัด การจัดฟัน และการบริหารจัดการการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่จากโรงพยาบาลในกัมพูชาและลาว
ในวันสุดท้ายของการศึกษาดูงาน ทีมงานได้รับฟังการบรรยายเกี่ยวกับการผ่าตัดรักษาผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ รวมถึงการสอนแสดงการผ่าตัด Cheiloplasty และ Palatoplasty โดย รศ.นพ.เก่งกาจ วินัยโกศล ศัลยแพทย์ตกแต่ง จากนั้นมีการสรุปการผ่าตัดรักษาของ 2 เคส และเปิดโอกาสให้ทีมจากกัมพูชาและลาวสอบถามเกี่ยวกับปัญหา อุปสรรค และแนวทางในการแก้ไขที่พบเจอในระหว่างการทำงาน

- ศัลยแพทย์จากลาว: Dr. Khamphai Phimphaphanh, Dr. Chanthavy Souksavanh
- ทันตแพทย์จัดฟันจากลาว: Dr. Outhaisavanh Souvannasing, Dr. Khounma Nanthasan
โดยมี คุณ Phensiri Charoensuk, Smile Train Program Manager, Thailand, ร่วมเข้าร่วมสังเกตการณ์การศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ด้วย
การศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ได้สร้างโอกาสในการแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์และความรู้ระหว่างทีมแพทย์จากประเทศไทยและประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน ซึ่งจะช่วยเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือและพัฒนาการดูแลผู้ป่วยปากแหว่งเพดานโหว่ในภูมิภาคนี้ต่อไป
Cleft Lip and Palate Care Observation Visit at Tawanchai Center, Khon Kaen University
From June 25–27, 2025, a group of surgeons and orthodontists from Cambodia and Laos, supported by Smile Train, visited the Tawanchai Center at the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, to observe and exchange knowledge on the care of patients with cleft lip and palate.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Dr. Bowornsilp Chowchuen, Chair of the Tawanchai Foundation, and Associate Professor Dr. Kamonwan Jenwitheesuk, Director of the Tawanchai Center, who gave an overview of the multidisciplinary care provided for cleft patients.
Day 1: Expert Lectures
The visiting team attended a series of lectures delivered by specialists, including:
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Aggasit Manosudprasit, Head of Orthodontics, who presented on orthodontic treatment for cleft patients.
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Siripong Sittisomwong, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who discussed Alveolar Bone Grafting (ABG) and orthognathic surgery.
- Yupin Pakkasang, specialized nurse and care coordinator, who spoke about pre- and post-operative nursing care for ABG and orthognathic surgery.
- Napaporn Boonsri and Pornpan Rupmor, postpartum ward nurses, who presented on breastfeeding support for infants with cleft conditions.
- Suteera Pradubwong, expert nurse, who discussed administrative and patient care management at the Tawanchai Center.
- Miss Tawitree Pumnum, speech and language therapist, who spoke on speech therapy and rehabilitation.
Day 2: Facility Tour and International Knowledge Sharing
The team visited several departments and clinical facilities, including:
- Tawanchai Center
- Orthodontic Clinic
- Speech Language Hearing Clinic
- Plastic Surgery Clinic
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic
- Operating Room
- Inpatient Wards 3C and Postpartum Ward 2C
During this day, teams from Cambodia and Laos also presented on cleft care practices in their respective hospitals, covering surgical techniques, orthodontic care, and patient management strategies.
Day 3: Live Surgical Demonstration and Case Discussions
On the final day, the group observed lectures and live demonstrations of cleft lip (cheiloplasty) and cleft palate (palatoplasty) surgeries, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kengkart Winaikosol, plastic surgeon. Two surgical cases were reviewed in detail, followed by an open discussion where the visiting team was encouraged to share challenges, ask questions, and explore solutions relevant to their local contexts.

Also in attendance was Ms. Phensiri Charoensuk, Smile Train Program Manager for Thailand, who observed the program throughout the visit.
This observation visit served as a valuable opportunity for regional collaboration and knowledge exchange, strengthening partnerships and enhancing cleft care capacity across Southeast Asia.
